Rewardli allows small business owners to leverage their social networks to get better discounts on purchases. Rewardli founders George Favvas and Jean-Sébastien Boulanger, both from Montreal, take online deals to whole new level.
When they walk into a store, small business owners are just like any regular customer – they pay full price. Large companies have special discounts, why not small businesses? Freshly founded startup Rewardli is a group discount site specifically tailored to the needs of small businesses and self-employed professionals.
Community activity generates better discounts
The online deals and coupons market seems somewhat saturated. Countless sites offer discounts on a number of products and services. Rewardli, though, is not like any other online deals site. First, it is specifically tailored to meet small business owners or self-employed professionals' needs. Entrepreneurs don't have a lot of time to waste on finding the best deals for each purchase they make. But at the same time, the more they save on expenses, the better. Rewardli lets small businesses and entrepreneurs get group deals and discounts on purchases at Rewardli’s partners. Users have a "buying power" that’s based on the frequency and volume of their own purchases at Rewardli partners, and on that of their community. In other words, the more a user and his social network buy from Rewardli partners, the better the deals get. Groups of users don’t even need to buy the same product or to synchronize their purchases – what matters is the global volume and frequency of purchases at Rewardli partners. The discounts - from 1% to 50% - can't go down, they can only get better.
"Permanent deals" instead of one-time offers
Another great thing about Rewardli is that deals are “permanent” and not just one-time offers like on most daily deal or discount sites. The Chrome extension lets users see what discounts they have whenever on a Rewardli retailer website, so users don't have to go on the Rewardli website all the time. Users make their purchases directly on the vendor’s e-commerce website and then get cash back on their PayPal account at the end of the month.
An interesting model for retailers
Right now, Rewardli has about 100 partners including Staples, Expedia, Skype, GoDaddy etc. Rewardli gives those brands a great opportunity to reach a broad community of small businesses and entrepreneurs. Contrary to daily deals sites like Groupon, Rewardli’s permanent group discount model definitely seems more interesting for brands to develop long term relationships with Rewardli users and develop brand favorability.
